Sunday 10 August, 11am-1pm. 3 miles
A moderate plus 3 miles (5 km) walk with some steep sections
Find out which plants the Chalkhill Blue needs to survive, with a Butterfly Conservation guide who frequently visits Therfield Heath. The site is an excellent place to see wildflowers that thrive on thin, chalk soils and the wildlife that lives on them. We should see many of these lovely butterflies on today's walk. Meet at the Sports Pavilion car park. From the A505 just west of Royston, take the exit to Royston (Baldock Road) that runs beneath the Heath. The car park is approx 1 km on the right. Royston Station is about 10 minutes walk from the start.(London Kings Cross to Cambridge)
